Pengaruh Pm₂.₅, Kepadatan Penghuni, Paparan Asap Rokok terhadap Kejadian Infeksi Saluran Pernapasan Akut (ISPA) pada Balita (Studi Kasus: di Kelurahan Sukorejo Kota Blitar)

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is a respiratory tract disease characterized by cough, runny nose, fever, and sore throat lasting less than two weeks. Data from the Blitar City Health Office showed that ARI prevalence increased from 41.9% in 2024 to 45.06% in 2025. The Sukorejo Community Health Center area had the highest proportion of ARI cases among children under five (53.3%), with Sukorejo Subdistrict recording the highest proportion of cases from January to September (42.28%). This study aimed to analyze the effects of PM₂.₅ particulate matter, occupant density, and exposure to cigarette smoke on ARI incidence among children under five in Sukorejo Subdistrict. A case-control design was used involving 45 cases and 45 controls aged 12–59 months, selected through simple random sampling. Bivariate analysis used the Chi-square test, while multivariate analysis used logistic regression. PM₂.₅ was measured using an InScienPro DAZ 400 PM, and room area was measured using a measuring tape. PM₂.₅ (p = 0.041), occupant density (p = 0.017), and cigarette smoke exposure (p = 0.005) were significantly associated with ARI incidence. Thus, these three factors were significantly associated with ARI among children under five in Sukorejo Subdistrict.
