Occupational accidents among nurses remain a major occupational health and safety concern in hospitals due to exposure to biological, physical, and mechanical hazards. One important preventive measure is improving compliance with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This study aimed to determine the relationship between PPE compliance and occupational accidents among nurses in the Inpatient Unit of Dr. Moewardi Regional General Hospital, Surakarta. This quantitative study employed a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 162 nurses, all of whom were included as respondents using total sampling. Data were collected through a validated and reliable questionnaire and analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses. The Spearman Rank test was applied because the data were not normally distributed. The results showed that all respondents (100%) complied with PPE use. Most respondents experienced a low level of occupational accidents (99.4%), while only 0.6% experienced a high level. The Spearman Rank test yielded a correlation coefficient of -0.403 with p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant, negative, and moderate relationship. Higher compliance with PPE use was associated with lower occupational accidents. Therefore, hospitals should maintain and improve PPE compliance through continuous supervision, education, and evaluation.
