Authorship Criteria

PRIMER: Jurnal Ilmiah Multidisiplin adheres to the international standards for authorship guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). To be listed as an author, an individual must have made a significant intellectual contribution to the manuscript.

1. Requirements for Authorship Authorship credit should be based only on fulfilling all four of the following criteria:

  • Substantial Contributions: Making significant contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; AND

  • Drafting and Revising: Drafting the work or critically revising it for important intellectual content; AND

  • Final Approval: Giving final approval of the version to be published; AND

  • Accountability: Agreeing to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

2. Non-Author Contributors (Acknowledgments) Contributors who meet fewer than all four of the above criteria for authorship should not be listed as authors, but they should be acknowledged. Examples of activities that alone (without other contributions) do not qualify a contributor for authorship include:

  • Acquisition of funding.

  • General supervision of a research group.

  • Administrative support or technical assistance.

  • Writing assistance, technical editing, and language proofreading. These contributions should be clearly stated in the Acknowledgments section of the manuscript, with the permission of those being acknowledged.

3. Role of the Corresponding Author The corresponding author is the primary contact for the journal during the manuscript submission, peer-review, and publication processes. The corresponding author is responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all listed authors have approved the manuscript submission.

  • Managing communication between the journal editors and all co-authors.

  • Ensuring that all administrative requirements, such as providing details of authorship, ethics committee approval, clinical trial registration documentation, and gathering conflict of interest forms and statements, are properly completed.

4. Changes to Authorship Any requests to add, remove, or rearrange author names in the authorship list must be sent to the Editorial Manager or Editor-in-Chief before the manuscript is accepted for publication. The corresponding author must provide:

  • A clear reason for the requested change in the authorship list.

  • Written confirmation (e-mail or letter) from all original authors expressing their agreement with the addition, removal, or rearrangement. In the case of addition or removal, confirmation from the author being added or removed must also be included.

Note: Changes to authorship are generally not permitted after the manuscript has been accepted or published. Any post-publication corrections will only be considered through a formal Erratum or Corrigendum process at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief.
