STATISTIC OF PRIMER
PRIMER: Jurnal Ilmiah Multidisiplin
1. Policy Overview PRIMER: Jurnal Ilmiah Multidisiplin is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity and academic excellence. To ensure the publication of high-quality multidisciplinary research, all submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous, transparent, and fair peer-review process. Our review protocols are designed to provide authors with constructive feedback while safeguarding the scholarly literature from methodological flaws and unverified claims.
2. Double-Blind Peer Review System PRIMER employs a strict Double-Blind Peer Review model.
The identities of the authors are completely concealed from the reviewers, and the identities of the reviewers are entirely concealed from the authors throughout the evaluation process.
To facilitate this, authors are required to ensure that their main manuscript file is entirely stripped of identifying information (names, affiliations, self-citations that reveal identity) before submission through the Open Journal Systems (OJS). Author details must be submitted in a separate Title Page file.
3. Initial Editorial Screening (Desk Review) Upon initial submission, the Editor-in-Chief or a designated Section Editor conducts a preliminary evaluation (Desk Review) within 3 to 7 working days. During this phase, the manuscript is assessed for:
Scope and Relevance: Does the manuscript fit within the multidisciplinary and general works scope of the journal?
Originality and Plagiarism: The manuscript is scanned using similarity-checking software (e.g., Turnitin). Manuscripts with an unacceptable similarity index (typically exceeding 20%, excluding quotes and bibliography) will be immediately rejected or returned for modification.
Formatting and Adherence: Does the manuscript comply with the journal's Author Guidelines, structural requirements, and referencing style?
Manuscripts that fail to meet these basic criteria are rejected at the desk review stage without being sent for peer review.
4. The Peer Review Stage If the manuscript passes the initial screening, the handling editor assigns it to at least 2 (two) independent experts whose academic expertise closely aligns with the manuscript's subject matter. Reviewers are tasked with evaluating the manuscript based on the following criteria:
Originality and Contribution: The novelty of the research and its contribution to the specific field or multidisciplinary discourse.
Methodological Rigor: The appropriateness and validity of the research design, data collection, and analytical methods.
Clarity and Structure: The logical flow of arguments, readability, and structural coherence of the text.
Validity of Conclusions: Whether the conclusions are fully supported by the empirical data and analysis presented.
Relevance of References: The adequacy, currency, and accuracy of the literature cited.
5. Review Timeframe PRIMER strives to ensure a timely and efficient review process.
Reviewers are generally given 2 to 4 weeks to complete their evaluation and submit their recommendations via the OJS platform.
The entire process, from initial submission to the final editorial decision, typically takes between 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the responsiveness of reviewers and the extent of revisions required from the authors.
6. Editorial Decision-Making The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision based on the combined feedback and recommendations of the peer reviewers. The possible editorial decisions are:
Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted for publication in its current form (rare).
Revisions Required (Minor Revision): The manuscript requires slight modifications, typographical corrections, or minor clarifications. Authors are typically given 1 to 2 weeks to resubmit.
Resubmit for Review (Major Revision): The manuscript requires significant rewriting, additional data analysis, or methodological adjustments. The revised manuscript will undergo a second round of peer review. Authors are given 2 to 4 weeks to resubmit.
Decline Submission (Reject): The manuscript is fundamentally flawed, lacks originality, falls outside the journal's scope, or fails to meet the required academic standards.
7. Confidentiality and Objectivity
Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat all submitted manuscripts as highly confidential documents. They must not share, discuss, or distribute the manuscript or any of its contents with third parties without explicit permission from the Editor-in-Chief.
Objectivity: Reviews must be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is strictly prohibited. Reviewers are expected to express their views clearly with supporting arguments to help authors improve their work.
8. Conflict of Interest in Peer Review Reviewers are strictly required to decline the review invitation if they identify any potential conflict of interest (financial, institutional, personal, or collaborative) related to the research topic, even if the authors' identities are hidden. For more details, please refer to our full Conflict of Interest Policy.
